You need your business to stand out from the competition or you will disappear into the background. In case you did not know, USP is an abbreviation for 'Unique Selling Point'. The USP ( Unique Selling Point) is a stand out feature, which can be used to let people know how your product and/or services are different from, and WAY BETTER than, other similar competitor offerings. 

You have a lot of competition out there, everyone does. It is very rare that a product is not similar to others on the market. So, here’s a question: why should your prospects buy from YOU, rather than your competitors? Why should they do business with you?

The moment your prospect hits your sales page (or even your lead page), they’re going to start wondering the same thing..."What make this different?" And if you can’t answer that question, you can be darn sure your prospects have no idea what the answer is either.

That’s why you NEED to create a clear and SOLID USP, and then put this USP in front of your prospects.

Does YOUR USP Work Like It Should?

How is YOUR business or product and services different from and better than the competitors’ businesses and products?

Here’s the specific question(s) your USP needs to answer:

  • Do you have unique qualifications to teach a topic or create some sort of product?
  • Does YOUR product make life faster/easier/cheaper/better?
  • Do you have a unique guarantee or return policy?
  • Do you offer exceptional customer service? 
  • Is your pricing more or less than your competitors? (And you can position yourself with higher pricing, if you link that price to luxury, an exceptional product, or something else that matters to your audience.)
  • Can you say you are the first to create something in your niche. (E.G., “The original…”)

Point is, you need to set yourself apart from your competitors. So, you need to - at the bare minimum...

Just adding an awesome USP alone doesn’t always guarantee a sale, of course. Your prospects need to trust you. You need to have a relationship with them.
